In the run up to the Olympics, Birmingham based Anopol Ltd played a vital role in bringing to life the spectacular Lady Godiva statue as part of the ‘Godiva Awakes’ project and this outstanding work has been recognised at the Made in the Midlands awards event.  The firm received a manufacturing achievement award for ‘Diversification’ sponsored by Aston Reinvestment Trust.  Dr Steve Walker, Chief Executive of Aston Reinvestment Trust said: 'We were delighted to sponsor the Made in the Midlands award to Anopol and to recognize the high level of local innovation and investment revealed by the Awards.'

Anopol stepped up to the mark in showcasing the skill and creativity of its own workforce and in representing the Midland’s rich, thriving craftsmanship in the once in a lifetime piece of public art.  As expert polishers to the trade, Anopol does not usually fabricate anything from stainless steel, but they competently took on the challenge of producing the book stand in the form of a humming bird and produced stunning results that represented the Midlands contribution to the celebration of the Olympics.  Chairman of Anopol, John Swain said:  “We are proud to have been involved in such an occasion and want to strive in our expertise alongside our passionate workforce.”
